About This Call
Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking large outdoor sculptures to be placed on campus as part of the "Outdoor Sculpture at AUM" project. This project is supported through funding by the AUM School of Liberal Arts, Department of Fine Arts, AUM Outreach, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. The selected sculptures will be displayed in a variety of secure locations on the university campus. Accepted artworks will be on display for up to two years. The selected artists will receive an honorarium of $1,000. Installed artwork should be available for sale.
All artwork entered must be free-standing and suitable for outdoor public display. The durability of the work will be considered in the selection process. The artwork must be delivered as exhibit-ready. The selected artworks should have welded tab or similarly easy-to-install method, or the artist must be available to assist with installation. Artists are solely responsible for the costs associated with delivery and return of the artwork. The artwork will be insured while on AUM's campus.
Applications must be submitted through CaFE with no entry fee. Submit three images of each artwork (no more than 3 sculptures per artist for a total of 9 images), including dimensions and materials for each sculpture. Also submit a current résumé, biographical statement, and artist statement for publicity purposes. Audio or video recordings will not be considered. All submitted artwork will be reviewed and selected by Suzanne Jensen, Associate Professor of Fine Art at AUM.
