Outdoor DownEast Sculpture Exhibition 2025-2026

The DownEast National Juried Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is a year-long exhibition in Pitt County, North Carolina, presented jointly by Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, ECU Student Galleries, City of Greenville, Town of Winterville, Town of Farmville, Town of Ayden, Wahl-Coates Elementary School for the Arts, and the Greenville Museum of Art. This exhibition is open to all artists ages 18 and up. Work should be large scale to fit one of the sculpture pads in various locations throughout Pitt County, NC. Sculpture pads range from 4'x5' to 10' round in diameter. All work must remain on exhibit from February 2025 through February 2026 and must be able to be exhibited outdoors using exterior grade materials.

Artists must be available to install and remove their own work. Limited assistance may be available upon request. Liability insurance may be required for the City of Greenville location. Sculptors must submit a written request 14 days prior to their installation date if human assistance is needed. All tools and equipment, including generators if necessary, must be provided by the artist. Upon removal, all bolts and hardware must be removed, though the steel bracket must remain in place.

Entry fee is $15 for the first submission, with up to 5 additional entries at $5 each (maximum 6 entries per artist). Submit 1-6 images digitally through www.callforentry.org. Entries open October 1, 2024, and must be completed by 11:59 PM MST on November 15, 2024. Accepted artists will be notified in December 2024. All accepted works receive an honorarium of $1,200, with additional awards: 1st Place $1,500, 2nd Place $750, 3rd Place $500.
