Out With The NEW & In With The OLD

"Out with the NEW & In with the OLD" is an art exhibition celebrating the fusion of tradition and innovation. Artists are invited to submit existing pieces from their archives—whether cherished works from years past or new creations with a nod to old works. There is no date limitation on submissions; artists may breathe new life into past works by infusing them with contemporary flair and fresh perspectives, or submit forgotten treasures brought back to life with new vitality.

Entries must be original works in any art medium. All artwork must be for sale, with the gallery taking a 30% commission on sales. Work samples may include 1-5 images (JPEGs, 3MB maximum), 0-5 audio files, and 0-5 video files. 2D works must not exceed 6 feet in any direction including frame and cannot exceed 50 lbs. 3D works must not exceed 6.5' x 2.5' x 10' and cannot exceed 200 lbs. or consist of more than 25 parts. Video entries must be links to Vimeo or YouTube with private or unlisted settings. Images of 3D work should have a neutral background. Descriptions should detail the process and technique used, including materials (e.g., "Acrylic on canvas," "Inkjet print of digital photograph on archival paper"). Artwork must be labeled on the back or bottom with title, year created, materials, and artist name. Framed work must use acrylic, polystyrene, or Plexiglas instead of glass. All pieces must be installation-ready with a hanging wire on the back; sawtooth hooks are not acceptable.

The entry fee is $20. The application deadline is July 26, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jury dates are July 27-29, 2024. Accepted artists will be notified by email and must deliver work to Arts Illiana Gallery, 23 N. 6th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 between July 30 and August 10, 2024 (Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm). Artists are responsible for transporting and insuring works in transit. Works not collected within 30 days of the exhibition closing will become the property of Arts Illiana Gallery.
