Out of the Box: A Juried Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition

Out of the Box is a biennial juried outdoor sculpture exhibition presented by the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University. The exhibition runs from October 6, 2017 through October 6, 2018, with work installed on the museum's grounds. This call is open to all artists age 18 and older. The exhibition is juried by Jean Shin through a blind-jurying process, with selections made based on images and basic descriptions of works.

Up to 15 finalists will be selected for display. All finalists whose work is displayed will receive a $1,000 honorarium. First prize includes an additional $3,000, second place receives an additional $1,500, and honorable mention receives an additional $500. Sponsored awards may also be available. Finalists will be notified by June 30, 2017, and award winners will be announced at the opening reception on October 6, 2017.

Submissions must include 1 to 3 images and may include up to 3 videos (minimum 1 total sample, maximum 6 total samples). The entry deadline is June 1, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. There is a one-time $25 entry fee that covers up to three applications. Artists may submit up to 20 applications total.
