Out Of The Blue

The Cultural Center invites artists to explore the unexpected thing through this online-only exhibition. The theme asks: Is it the startling surprise or the unforeseen event? Emerging from the ocean, falling from the sky – a berry, a bird, a butterfly, an eye – from aquamarine to azure to indigo.

This call is open to all fine art mediums including oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, and digital art, except video. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. The call is open to all artists worldwide, both amateur and professional.

Entry deadline is Friday, July 12, 2024. Winners will be notified by email by July 20, 2024, with the gallery opening on the Cultural Center website completed by that date. Awards are: First place - $300.00, Second place - $200.00, Third place - $100.00. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, up to a maximum of 20 images. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. All images must be submitted in JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. No shipping is required. All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist.
