Our Town

Our Town is a juried exhibition at Richmond Art Center running June 12 – August 27, 2016. The exhibition invites artists to share their views, impressions, and thoughts on what makes a place unique, what gives a place its identity, and what meaning can be drawn from experience, association, or memory. As the Richmond Art Center reflects on its 80th Anniversary, artists are invited to show their art reflecting their town, our town, or a better town.

Juror Jack Fischer, director of Jack Fischer Gallery in San Francisco, will select works for the exhibition. Eligibility is limited to California residents only. All media except video and film are accepted. Original work must have been produced in the last three years and cannot exceed 36 x 36 inches. All works must be suitably prepared for hanging or installation. Submission of artwork entries is online only via CaFÉ. Entry fee is $40 for two works ($30 for RAC members), with $15 for each additional work. Minimum 2 images required, maximum 6 images per submission.

Important dates: Submission deadline is Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jury results will be emailed Sunday, May 1. Accepted work must be hand delivered Friday, May 27 or Saturday, May 28, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Opening reception is Saturday, June 11, 5 – 7 p.m. Pick up of accepted work is Sunday, August 28 or Monday, August 29, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Awards totaling $1,000 will be given.
