Orlando Neighborhood Mural: Welcoming Travelers to The City Beautiful

The City of Orlando is seeking professional artists and artist teams with experience in large-scale mural installations to create a mural that embodies Orlando's iconic landmarks, culture, and diversity. The mural should offer a dynamic and inviting visual experience for travelers and incorporate Orlando's iconic destinations such as Lake Eola Fountain, Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World, Camping World Stadium, Kia Center, and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Concepts should also include scenes of community and outdoor life, including families, pedestrians, and nature, or "Welcome to Orlando" lettering.

The mural wall dimensions are 6.5 feet high by 265 feet long on a brick surface that will be painted a solid base color prior to installation. The budget is $20,000-$30,000 and includes artist fee, materials, and installation. Applicants must submit concept images of the proposed mural along with examples of previous large-scale mural projects. The budget submission must include all installation equipment and materials. Local Central Florida artists are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility is limited to professional artists with a proven track record of completing large-scale public art projects on time and within budget. Artists must provide proof of insurance. The submission deadline is July 6, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submissions should include a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 images, with an optional 0-6 videos.
