About This Call
The Oregon Arts Commission (OAC) in Salem and the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) in Portland invite national and international artists to submit qualifications for the Oregon Public Art Roster. The Roster serves as a resource for public art selection committees to identify artists for community and project-specific needs, and is accessible to local public art programs, community groups, schools, architecture firms, and private industry.
Eligibility: Applicants must have successfully completed at least two permanent or temporary site-specific commissions in which the content, materials, and/or placement of the artwork was informed by input from the commissioning body. Non-US residents must be able to show current ability to work in the United States at time of selection. Following the initial deadline of July 1, 2011, applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed at least once annually. The Roster will be completely refreshed every three years at which time all artists must reapply. Artists not selected may reapply one year from being notified.
Application materials must be submitted through CaFE and include: an artist statement of interest (2000 characters maximum), a two-page résumé with three professional references, exactly 10 JPEG images illustrating two to four completed site-specific public art projects, and an image identification list with project details. Applicants must identify a minimum budget range ($0-$74,499; $75,000-$149,999; or above $150,000) and select applicable work categories. Review criteria: 50 points for artistic and technical quality of past work, 30 points for professional experience, and 20 points for value to OAC and RACC collections.
