About This Call
National and international artists are invited to submit qualifications for the Oregon Art in Public Places Roster. The Oregon Arts Commission in Salem, Oregon, and the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) in Portland, Oregon, manage the percent for art programs for the State of Oregon, Multnomah County, and City of Portland. The Roster serves as a resource for public art selection panels to identify artists most suitable for specific project needs. Selection panels have the option of using the roster either in combination with an open call or invitational or as the sole resource for identifying appropriate artists for a project.
Applicants must have successfully completed at least two permanent or temporary site-specific commissions. Professional artists living and working in the United States are eligible to apply. Non-US residents must be able to show current ability to work in the United States prior to being contracted for a project in Oregon.
Application materials must include: an Artist Statement of Interest (3000 characters or less), a two-page resume (PDF) with three professional references, exactly 10 images of previous work illustrating projects within specific sites (up to 3 moving image files may be included), and an Image Identification List (PDF) numbered and providing project title, location, date completed, media, dimensions, budget, commissioning agency, project partners, and brief project description. An optional Design Team Statement of Interest (2000 characters or less) may be submitted for RACC projects. Applicants must indicate minimum budget requirements and whether they wish to be considered for Design Team opportunities. All materials must be submitted through CaFE. Neither OAC nor RACC guarantees that an artist selected for the roster will be considered for a project in Oregon. Contact: Salvador Mayoral IV, Public Art Associate, [email protected], 503.823.5865.
