Ordinary Lives

Art Saint Louis presents "Ordinary Lives," an all-media juried visual art exhibition featuring artworks that focus on ordinary lives and living, and the things that make the everyday more special. The exhibition invites explorations of one's inner, private life from interior dialogues to scenes of domesticity. Artists are encouraged to explore all media, styles, and techniques in response to the theme.

Eligibility is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region when the show begins (July 31, 2021) to participate if selected. Submit a maximum of 3 original artworks created between 2018 and 2021. Entry fee is $35 for non-members or $20 for Art Saint Louis members. Submissions must include 1-6 images and up to 3 videos. The deadline to submit is May 10, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, from July 31 to September 9, 2021, with a free reception on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 5-7 p.m. Jurors are Sara Merideth and David Ottinger. Awards include one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five award recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2023" ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis in Summer 2023. The exhibition uses a blind jurying process where jurors review anonymous digital presentations of artwork and do not see artist names until after selections are made.
