Orange County Artist Guild New Membership 2022

The Orange County Artist Guild invites applications for new membership from individual artists who live or maintain a studio in Orange County, NC. Membership is open to any artist who is juried into the Guild. The jury process takes place once a year to select new members, and the jury's decision is final.

Applicants must submit 5 images of their work (a 6th image of studio/workspace is optional), a resume (2 pages maximum), and an artist statement (2000 character limit). Images must be in JPEG or JPG format, sRGB color space, smaller than 5MB but at least 1200 pixels on the longest side. The application fee is $25 (nonrefundable). Applicants may submit up to 2 applications if working in two distinct media, with a separate $25 fee for each application. Annual membership dues are $100 per calendar year (January 1 - December 31). New members pay dues after being juried into the Guild.

Guild activities include hosting an annual Orange County Open Studio Tour (first two weekends in November), annual Winter and Spring shows, an information booth at Festifall, a website gallery for all members, organizational social media pages, quarterly member meetings with educational programs, forums and workshops on art topics, a listserv with exhibition and job opportunities, and coordination of other exhibition and sales opportunities throughout the year. The Studio Tour participation fee is $500, or $250 with completion of at least 8 hours of committee work. A "Young Adult Emerging Artist" program offers 1 to 3 positions for artists ages 21-30, with potential waiver of annual membership dues and Studio Tour fees for one year. Applicants for this program should not be enrolled in a degree program (except BFA or MFA) during their membership year. Application deadline: January 31, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications will be sent in mid to late February 2022.
