Orange County Artist Guild New Membership 2021

The Orange County Artist Guild is accepting applications for new membership. Membership is open to any individual artist who lives or maintains a studio in Orange County, NC and has been juried into the Guild. The jury process takes place once a year to select new members. The jury's decision is final and no explanations or individual critiques will be provided.

Applicants must submit 5-6 digital images (5 of artwork, optionally 1 of studio/workspace), a resume (2 pages maximum), and an artist's statement (2000 character limit). Images must be at least 1200 pixels on the longest side, smaller than 5MB, in JPEG/JPG format with sRGB color space. The application fee is $25 (nonrefundable). Applicants may submit up to 2 applications if working in distinct media, with a $25 fee for each application. Annual membership dues are $100 per calendar year (January 1 - December 31), paid after jury acceptance.

Guild activities include hosting an annual Orange County Open Studio Tour (first two weekends in November), maintaining a website gallery for members, providing organizational social media pages, hosting quarterly meetings with educational programs, coordinating forums and workshops, maintaining a listserv with exhibition and job opportunities, and promoting self-led artist interest groups. Members may participate in Guild shows with appropriate event fees. The Studio Tour participation fee is $500, reducible to $250 by completing at least 8 hours of committee work. A "Young Adult Emerging Artist" opportunity is available for 1-3 artists ages 21-30, which may waive the annual membership fee and Studio Tour participation fee for one year if selected. Applicants for this position should not be enrolled in a degree program (except BFA or MFA) during their membership year. An applicants' Q&A Zoom session is scheduled for January 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Notifications will be sent in mid to late February 2021.
