Orange County Artist Guild New Membership 2020

The Orange County Artist Guild is accepting applications for new membership. Membership is open to any individual artist who lives or maintains a studio in Orange County, NC and has been juried into the Guild. The jury process takes place once a year to select new members. The jury's decision is final and no explanations or individual critiques will be provided.

Applicants must submit 5 images of their work (a sixth image of studio/workspace is optional), a resume (2 pages maximum), and an artist's statement (2000 character limit). Images must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files in sRGB color space, smaller than 5MB but at least 1200 pixels on the longest side. The application fee is $25 (nonrefundable) and must be paid by the entry deadline. Annual membership dues are $100 per calendar year. Applicants may submit up to 2 applications if working in two distinct media, with a $25 fee required for each application.

The Guild hosts an annual Orange County Open Studio Tour (first two weekends in November), maintains a website gallery for members, offers quarterly meetings with educational programs, coordinates workshops and forums, maintains a listserv with exhibition and job opportunities, and organizes self-led artist interest groups. A "Young Adult Emerging Artist" opportunity is available for 1 to 3 artists ages 21-30, which may waive the $100 annual membership fee and $250 Studio Tour participation fee for one year. Applicants for this position should not plan to be enrolled in a degree program (except BFA or MFA) during their membership year. Application submission closes January 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications will be sent in mid to late February 2020.
