About This Call

Opposites is a national juried exhibition at the Attleboro Arts Museum in Attleboro, MA, on view June 12–July 12, 2019, with an opening reception on June 15th from 2-4pm. The museum invites artists to explore opposition in nature, qualities, direction, result, or significance through all mediums, sizes, and interpretations.

Each artist may submit up to two different entries of original artwork. All mediums and interpretations are welcome from US artists, with no size limit, though each entry cannot weigh over 100 lbs. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Attleboro Arts Museum. Artists can submit 2D, 3D, installation, audio, or video work. If selected, all technology for video or audio pieces must be supplied by the artist. Six prizes of $100 each will be awarded.

Entry fees are $18 for Museum members or $25 for non-members, covering up to two entries. Artists can join as a member when paying for submissions. All fees are non-refundable. Work samples should include 1-2 images, with optional audio or video files (maximum 2 each). The entry deadline is Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:59 PM, Mountain Time. All artists will receive notification of the juror's decision by Tuesday, May 14th at 7 PM, MT, with accepted works posted on www.attleboroartsmuseum.org. Accepted work must be delivered between May 15th and June 1st, 10 AM–3 PM, EST. All accepted work must be framed, gallery-wrapped, or finished on the edges and ready to hang with a sturdy wire hanging system. The Museum will insure all work from arrival through pick-up dates, with a maximum coverage of $2000 per piece and a $500 deductible. Art sales are subject to a 30% commission for members and 40% for non-members.
