About This Call

This is a juried art exhibition for members of Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA)'s Artist Alliance. Artists are invited to submit up to 20 entries for consideration. The exhibition is not strictly themed, but artists are encouraged to submit work that represents their interpretation of the title, with consideration for abstract or figurative work exploring art-for-wellness efforts, including themes like leaning into joy and community, finding moments of respite and well-being.

Juror Kate Ashton, senior instructor and owner of Ashton Gallery, will select work that creates the strongest show when considering all works in context. This exhibition will be determined through blind jurying, meaning artist names will not be shared with the juror during the jurying process. OMA has partnered with Art Pharmacy, a program by San Ysidro Health, to deliver innovative arts-based "social prescriptions" to support mental health and well-being.

Entry fee is $25 for the first submission and $10 for each additional submission. Scholarships are available; contact [email protected] for consideration. All submissions must be original works of art. No giclees or other reproductions are accepted, with the exception of limited edition prints and photography. Artwork may be in any media or style. Wall-mounted work has a maximum of 60" width and 60" height including frame. Freestanding three-dimensional work must be no larger than approximately 72" in any direction. Works on paper and canvases .75" or less must be framed. Two-dimensional wall-hanging work must have D-rings on the back installed at equal heights on either side. The exhibition runs January 10–February 7, 2026, with a public reception on Saturday, January 10, 2026, 4:00–7:00pm. Art drop-off/delivery is January 6-7, 2026, 10:00am–3:00pm. Artwork under 60" in all dimensions may be shipped to arrive before January 5, 2026.
