Opposing Ideas in Mind

The Lab on Santa Fe invites artists to submit work inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's quote: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." The exhibition seeks work that demonstrates the ability to hold contrasting elements together—such as beauty combined with shadow, or reverence balanced with irreverence—with continuous depth that sustains viewer attention.

The Lab on Santa Fe is located in the Heart of the Santa Fe Art District in Downtown Denver. The gallery hosts First Friday Art Crawls attended by thousands of people, as well as serious buyers who visit regularly on Saturdays and Sundays.

Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must include 1-3 images and optionally 1 video. Any piece accepted into the exhibition must be priced between $300 and $1,800. Accepted work must be dropped off or picked up in person; work requiring shipping is not eligible. Out-of-state applicants are welcome provided they can meet the in-person delivery requirement. Exhibition dates: October 6-29, 2023.
