Opposing Forces: Energetic Tensions in Printmaking and Photography

Remarque Print Workshop & Gallery invites printmakers and photographers from around the world to submit work for the exhibition "Opposing Forces: Energetic Tensions in Printmaking and Photography," to be held in Albuquerque, NM from June 9–July 29, 2023.

The call seeks hand-printed photographic imagery using alternative processes such as photogravure, photopolymer intaglio, cyanotype, gum bichromate, carbon, salt, lumen, anthotype, and gumoil. Artists should submit images that explore the boundaries between photography and printmaking and involve hand-work, creating synergy or tension between the two mediums. The exhibition will showcase emerging work that blends techniques from printmaking and image making. Questions about process suitability should be directed to [email protected].

Submit 3 to 5 images with a maximum paper size of 16 x 20" or 20 x 16". Entry fee is $35 USD, non-refundable. Entries must be submitted via CAFE by April 23, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. All selected works will be archivally framed and displayed. Artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping costs. Remarque retains 50% of the retail price; artists receive 50%. Payment will be made within 30 days of the exhibition's end. Jury results will be announced by April 26, 2023. Accepted works must arrive by May 21, 2023. The exhibit will be juried by Karen Hymer, MFA, of Light Art Space in Silver City, NM.
