Open Wall: NC Artists

Open Wall: NC Artists is an exhibition opportunity for artists residing in North Carolina. Artists must be at least 18 years of age. There is no entry fee.

Artists should submit a resume and digital portfolio of 7-10 works representing a recent body of work completed in the last 3-5 years. Portfolio submissions must include 5-15 images total. All 2D and 3D mediums are accepted, including drawing, painting, photography, animation, sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking. The Exhibitions Committee will select artists based on submitted portfolios. If selected, artists may choose a different body of work for their exhibition, provided all exhibited works were completed within the last three years and have not been previously shown or entered into any Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County exhibition.

Selected artists will receive approximately 8-10 linear feet of gallery space. Space locations will be assigned through a lottery process, with notification by Friday, March 19th. Artists are responsible for curating and hanging their own work in-person during Monday, May 29th through Wednesday, May 31st during regular business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Work labels must be provided to the Exhibit Coordinator by Tuesday, March 30th, including title, medium, size, and sales price or insurance value. A minimum of 50% of each artist's works should be for sale. The Arts Council retains a 30% commission from sales. All work is insured while at the Arts Council. Installed works may be picked up between Monday, May 17th and Wednesday, May 19th during regular business hours. The Arts Council will create a 360 Virtual Gallery for the exhibition. Artists retain all copyrights to their work.
