Open Theme Annual 2023

Webster Arts invites art submissions for the Open Theme Annual 2023, a national juried exhibition open to artists aged 18 and older residing in the US. Artists are encouraged to submit 2D and 3D work on any theme. The exhibition will be held January 13 – February 17, 2023, with an opening reception on Friday, January 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Submit up to 10 JPEG digital images (1000-1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB maximum). Entry fee is $25 for up to three entries. Artwork specifications: framed wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48" x 48"; all wall works on paper must be framed; three-dimensional works must not exceed 32" x 32" x 60" and weigh no more than 50 pounds. No floor or ceiling-hung installations, video, or reproductions are accepted. All work must be original and not previously exhibited at Webster Arts. Unassembled work must include detailed assembly instructions.

Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from Webster Arts using FedEx, UPS, USPS, or DHL, or may hand-deliver and pick up during scheduled times (January 6-10, 2023, 9 am-4:30 pm, or by January 12 for shipped work). An independent juror will select work for inclusion and award cash prizes: $250 Best in Show and one $100 Award of Excellence. Webster Arts receives a 30% commission on all exhibition sales. All artwork is insured for its declared value from receipt through pickup by carrier. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit. Submission deadline: December 13, 2022. Artists will be notified by email on December 21, 2022.
