Open Studios Napa Valley 2023

Open Studios Napa Valley 2023 is an exhibition event taking place September 16-17 and 23-24, 2023, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Artists may choose to participate both weekends or only one weekend at the same cost.

Entry fees are $295 for returning artists and $330 for new artists (includes $35 non-refundable jury fee). New applicants must submit 5 digital images; returning artists submit 3-5 images. Images must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile. Label images with last name, first initial, and image number (e.g., Smith, J, image 1). One high-resolution (300 dpi) catalog image is also required. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years. The jury panel comprises art professionals and judging is blind.

The majority of work on display must be original. Limited reproductions (prints, cards, giclées) are permitted only if created from the artist's original design and produced under the artist's supervision. All participating artists must volunteer to help with the program. Artists are responsible for obtaining appropriate business licenses, California resale certificates, and liability insurance. Open Studios does not provide insurance or guarantee studio space, but can recommend available spaces. Each artist is required to include one piece in a group show at the Jessel Gallery. Participating artists receive 2 signs (new artists) or 1 sign (returning artists) and are listed in a printed catalog with a map of artist locations. Artists agree to complete a post-event survey and may be asked to collect visitor demographic information at their studio.
