Open Studios Napa Valley 2022

Open Studios Napa Valley 2022 is an exhibition event held September 17-18 and 24-25, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Artists may participate in both weekends or choose only one weekend at the same cost.

Entry fees are $295 for returning artists or $330 for new applicants (includes $35 non-refundable jury fee; application fee is refunded if not juried in). New applicants and returning artists who have not participated since 2017 must submit five digital images (4 low resolution, 1 high resolution at 300 dpi) of artwork completed within the last two years. Images must be JPEG/JPG format, minimum 1,200 pixels on longest side, under 5 MB, sRGB color profile. Label images with last name, first initial, and image number; indicate which is the catalog image.

The majority of work on display must be original. Limited reproductions (prints, cards, giclées) are permitted only if created from the artist's original design and produced under the artist's supervision. Artists must obtain appropriate California business licensing and a resale certificate for sales tax collection. All participating artists are expected to volunteer and contribute to the program. Artists must be present at their studio during all event hours. Studios should be creative workspaces rather than retail spaces; artists are encouraged to display work in progress, demonstrate creative processes, or show video/photographs of themselves working. Open Studios does not guarantee studio space but can recommend available locations. Each participating artist must provide one piece for a group show at Jessel Gallery and will receive two event signs. Artists agree to complete a post-event survey and may be asked to collect visitor demographic information. Open Studios Napa Valley retains fair use rights to all submitted images for advertising, promotion, and marketing purposes.
