Open Studios Napa Valley 2021

Open Studios Napa Valley 2021 will be held the last two weekends of September: September 18-19 and September 25-26, with hours from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Artists can elect to participate in one weekend or both. All artists must be present at their studio from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on each day of the event.

Eligibility requirements include: current 2021 paid membership with Art Association Napa Valley (AANV); living or working within Napa County or partnering with a participating artist; creating all artwork yourself as original works; having a minimum of 10 pieces available for sale each day; obtaining a valid municipal business license if required in your area; obtaining a valid state resale license and City of Napa business license if applicable; and having a working email address. New applicants must be successfully juried into the event. Returning artists must have participated in at least one Open Studios event in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020.

Application fees are $295 for returning artists and $345 for new artists (includes $50 non-refundable jury fee). The entry deadline is March 15, 2021. New applicants must submit five images (4 low resolution JPEGs and 1 high resolution catalog image) of artwork completed within the last two years. Returning artists must submit five images including one artist-in-studio photo, one catalog image, and three artwork images. All images must be JPEGs in RGB color, minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side, under 5 MB. The catalog image must be 300 dpi and 8 inches on the long side. All participating artists must obtain appropriate business licensing and a California resale certificate for sales tax collection. Artists are expected to volunteer to help support the program. The majority of work on display must be original; limited reproductions are permitted if created from the artist's original design and produced under the artist's supervision. Open Studios does not provide insurance; artists must obtain liability insurance for their location.
