Open Studios Napa Valley 2020

Open Studios Napa Valley 2020 will be held the last two weekends of September: September 19-20 and September 26-27, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Artists can elect to participate in one weekend or both. All artists must be present at their studio from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on each day of the event.

Eligibility requirements include: current 2020 paid membership with Art Association Napa Valley (AANV); living or working within Napa County or partnering with a participating artist; creating all artwork yourself as original works; having a minimum of 10 pieces available for sale each day; obtaining a valid municipal business license if required in your area; obtaining a valid state resale license and City of Napa business license if applicable; having a working email address; and paying the current application fee (and jury fee if applicable). New applicants must be successfully juried into the event. Returning artists must have participated in at least one Open Studios event in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019.

Application fee is $295 per artist. New applicants pay an additional $50 jury fee (non-refundable). If a new applicant is not successfully juried in, the application fee will be refunded. Entry deadline is March 15, 2020. New applicants must submit 5 images in RGB color and JPG format (4 low resolution and 1 high resolution catalog image at 300dpi and 8" on long side, not to exceed 5MB). Returning artists must submit 3 images in RGB color and JPG format. All submitted artwork must have been completed within the last two years. The majority of work on display must be original. A limited amount of manufactured work (prints, cards, giclées, etc.) may be offered for sale if created strictly from the artist's original design and produced under the artist's supervision. All artists must obtain appropriate business licensing and a California resale certificate for sales tax collection. Open Studios Napa Valley and Art Association Napa Valley do not provide insurance; artists are responsible for obtaining liability insurance. All participating artists are expected to volunteer to help with the program. Written cancellation requests received prior to the application deadline will receive a full refund of the application fee; jury fees are non-refundable. Requests received after the deadline will receive no refund.
