Open Studios at Rembrandt Yard 2018 Call for Submissions

Open Studios and Rembrandt Yard invite Boulder County artists to submit work to be displayed in one of their two galleries. Work will typically hang for a 3-month period. Each exhibit will include a gallery reception event hosted by Open Studios and scheduled within the confines of Rembrandt Yard Event Center, on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evenings no more than 2 months in advance. Open Studios staff will hang and label the exhibits.

Rembrandt Yard Art Gallery & Event Center features over 6,500 square feet of gallery space on two floors. The venue hosts several hundred events each year, including weddings, corporate events, and holiday parties, bringing guests from across the country as well as tourists and visitors. All works must be suitable for a public event venue space. Work that includes nudes, highly controversial work, or work that is too "dark" will not be considered. Only wall-hung 2D media will be accepted; wall-hung 3-dimensional media will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Artists must submit 12-20 images of their work, an artist's statement, and agree to the terms outlined. All artwork must be display-ready with framing, matting, and hanging wire compatible with the gallery's system. Selected exhibitors will be notified by December 15, 2017.

Entry fee is $25. Artists are responsible for delivering artwork on the installation date. Open Studios will facilitate sales during the exhibit period with a 60/40 commission split (artist receives 60%). After the physical exhibit, work will be displayed and available for sale via the Open Studios website for up to 2 years. Artists are responsible for insuring their art. Open Studios and Rembrandt Yard are not liable for theft or damage. Artists must pick up artwork at the end of the exhibition; unclaimed art becomes the property of Open Studios. Unless notified in writing otherwise, artwork may be photographed and reproduced for publicity, exhibition documentation, and educational purposes.
