About This Call
The City of Frisco invites artists to submit work for a proposed exhibition at the Frisco Discovery Center in Frisco, Texas. Selected artists will have their works displayed in the Community Gallery in 2027, sharing their work with visitors and the Frisco community. Submitting an Open Season application does not guarantee reservation of the gallery in 2027.
All types of artistic media will be considered. Artworks must be framed, wired, and ready to display or hang, generally not larger than 72" in any direction. Installations must be coordinated with staff and include photos or detailed sketches. No perishable or irreplaceable items may be used. Artworks must be unifying, community-centric, and family-friendly, appropriate for all ages. There is no application fee. If approved, the rental cost for a month-long show is $325, due within two weeks of receiving your contract. An additional $35 hourly rate applies for receptions (two-hour minimum).
Designs must be original and not infringe on copyright. Artists must be able to travel to the Frisco Discovery Center for load-in, load-out, and reception dates; artworks cannot be shipped. Groups with multiple artists may apply, with each artist submitting an individual artist statement and images. Submit a minimum of 15 images and a maximum of 20 of the artworks you would like displayed. If approved, you may submit additional artwork. Submissions are accepted only through www.callforentry.org. Scan or photograph completed artwork clearly with files large enough to print clearly. City staff will review submissions and all artists will receive written notice of acceptance or rejection. Selection criteria include compliance with all eligibility and submission requirements and appropriateness of content.
