Open Entry 2022

Pirate: Contemporary Art announces its Open Entry 2022 juried art show. Founded over 35 years ago, this eclectic, alternative gallery space presents cutting-edge contemporary artworks from Denver. The exhibition is juried by Miranda Lash, Ellen Bruss Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, who has organized exhibitions including Keltie Ferris: *O*P*E*N*, BRUCE CONNER: FOREVER AND EVER, Mel Chin: Rematch, Rashaad Newsome: King of Arms, and Swoon: Thalassa. Lash previously served as founding curator of modern and contemporary art at the New Orleans Museum of Art and currently serves as Vice President on the board of the Joan Mitchell Foundation.

The exhibition runs November 18 – December 11, 2022. All submissions must be made through CaFE. The entry deadline is October 7, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The entry fee is $45 for 1-3 images accompanied by the work's title, dimensions, media, and price. Open to all media and all artists who live in the United States.

Accepted work must be delivered by hand or shipped by Friday, November 4, 2022. Drop-off is available at Pirate: Contemporary Art, 7130 W. 16th Ave., Lakewood, CO 80214 (Friday 6-10pm, Saturday-Sunday 12-5pm). Shipped work should be sent to Pirate Contemporary Art Open Entry 2022, c/o Charles Livingston, 6578 S. Webster St., Littleton, CO 80123 with correct return postage. Work exceeding 4 feet in either direction or complicated to install must be installed by the artist or artist representative. Pick-up is December 11, 2022 after 5pm. Artists will be notified October 22, 2022.
