About This Call

Englewood Arts (EA) is a newly formed non-profit community art center with three major artistic pillars: Performing, Culinary, and Visual arts. The organization is seeking residents in Glass Blowing, Painting, Fibers, Photography, Murals, Woodworking, Metals, and Neon. Ceramics and writing are also considered. EA is focused on bringing the artist community and the general public together to share knowledge and expand artistic appreciation.

Each resident will receive semi-private studio space with equipment and private shelving, a stipend (average $1500 cash and material stipend), paid teaching opportunities, and exhibition opportunities. Service hours and event participation are expected from each artist. Limited opportunities for shared living space are available at $500 per month. Artists interested in unique production opportunities, community involvement, exploration, and experimentation are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must submit: a written proposal of interest (500 words max, including details of studio practice, desired projects, and how you could utilize a year-long residency); a resumé with short bio (500 words max); 10 digital images of work (or 2-5 writing samples, max 5000 words); and two professional references with contact information. Applicants must not be currently in a degree-seeking program at the start of the residency. For Glass Blowing, Neon, and Metals, a degree from an accredited university or equivalent is preferred. For Woodworking, Photography, Murals, Fiber, and Painting, artists must be able to work independently and in community settings with familiarity of common equipment and maintenance. Entry fee: $20.00. International artists are eligible.
