About This Call
INTER:AKT is an international festival bringing together art and technology through a hybrid programme – on-site in Katowice and online. The first edition of the festival will take place on 7th-8th of November.
The Open Call is addressed to individuals working at the intersection of art, technology, and digital media – including those creating or researching digital culture, games, film (e.g. fiction, animation, documentary), as well as programmers and curators (the list is open).
Projects, research and artistic processes that aim to take part in our festival, should revolve around this year’s festival’s theme:
New technologies, algorithms, systems, and applications shape our everyday lives. We are interested in the worlds created through them – whether real or imagined. This year’s programme is built around three interconnected thematic threads that serve as a compass, guiding us between grand narratives and global challenges on one side, and personal and whispered stories on the other.
imagining – envisioning worlds and speculating on possible scenarios for today and for the future.
mediating – understanding the tools and media that shape how we experience the world; navigating a reality of technological, cultural and social change.
belonging – seeking new and revisiting existing forms of community, coexistence and connection.
There are two possible ways to take part in our festival – online and on-site in Katowice.
Applications can be submitted in Polish or English only via the application form.
The project is supported financially by the Silesian Voivodeship.
