About This Call
Studio Channel Islands invites artists to submit their most recent breakthrough pieces for this all-media exhibition. All media and styles are welcome, including 2D/3D works, video, film, performance, sound, and installation art. All submissions must be original artwork completed within the last three years.
The exhibition is juried by Taylor Bythewood-Porter, Curator and Writer, who holds a Master of Arts in art business from Sotheby's Institute of Art at Claremont Graduate University and previously served as Assistant Curator at the California African American Museum. The Juror's Awards will be given to three works with cash prizes: 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $750, and 3rd Place $500. All successful artists will receive professional installation documentation of the exhibition (worth $1,500).
Entry fee is $55 for non-members or $35 for members with coupon code. Submissions deadline is July 6, 2025. Artists will be notified July 16, with artwork delivery by July 28 and drop-off on July 29. The exhibition runs August 2 - September 13, 2025, with an opening reception on August 2 from 4-6 PM and winners announced at 5:15 PM. Pick-up day is September 16 from 9 AM - 6:30 PM. Eligible artists must be 18 and up. 2D artwork must be no larger than 8 feet high. All artwork must be delivered ready to hang with appropriate hardware (no saw-tooth hangers). Pedestals will be provided for 3D artwork. Artists must indicate vertical or horizontal orientation and any special installation instructions; the professional installation team will make final decisions on placement, cost, and safety.
