Open Call 2023 Exhibition & Residency | Mexico City

Art Gallery Studios is a Dab Art Co. gallery located in Colonia Juárez, Mexico City. Housed in a 2-story former residence with 4,000 square feet of combined exhibition space, the gallery features both original colonial architecture and contemporary display walls. The gallery is curated exclusively by Dab Art Co. curator Micheal Swank.

This open call accepts painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Artists may submit 3-20 images. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each. An optional Zoom consultation with the curator is available for $75, limited to 1 hour, covering portfolio review, website and social media feedback, and professional guidance. Entries submitted on or before March 31, 2023 are considered for upcoming Project Gallery exhibitions. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive either an "Invited" status for immediate exhibition placement or "Wait List" status, with wait-listed artists featured in at least one online exhibition within the calendar year.

All work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. No packing peanuts are permitted. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales through the gallery and online platform (Artsy). Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. For inquiries, contact [email protected].
