Open Call 2023 Exhibition & Residency | Mexico City

Project Gallery is a Dab Art Co. gallery located in Colonia Juárez, Mexico City. Housed in a 2-story former residence with 4,000 square feet of combined exhibition space, the gallery features both original colonial architecture and contemporary display walls. Project Gallery is curated exclusively by Dab Art Co. curator Michael Swank.

This open call accepts painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Artists may submit 3-20 images. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each. An optional Zoom consultation with the curator is available for $75, limited to 1 hour maximum, covering portfolio review, website and social media feedback, and professional guidance. Consultations are non-refundable regardless of selection status.

Entries submitted by 2/28/2023 are reviewed weekly for upcoming exhibition consideration. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive an "Invited" status for immediate group or solo exhibition opportunities, or a "Wait List" status indicating potential future placement and guaranteed online exhibition within the calendar year. On average, the gallery selects 10-20 artists monthly across solo exhibitions and group shows. All work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after exhibition concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. For inquiries, contact [email protected].
