Only Oils

Art Scene West presents Only Oils, an exclusive exhibition celebrating oil painting. This Call for Artists seeks those working in oil paints to share their best works, whether rooted in tradition or founded in unique contemporary approaches. All styles, themes and subjects are welcome, from realism to abstraction, portraiture to landscape, expressionism to impressionism.

Artists may enter up to 4 different works per submission, with each entry juried individually. Multiple submissions are allowed. Artworks are juried according to their originality, overall quality, and relevance to the exhibition theme. 2D works are limited to a maximum of 30" on the longest side; larger works may be considered with an additional fee if accepted. The submission deadline is March 16th, 2026. Notification of acceptance will be between March 17th-19th, 2026. Selected artists must deliver artwork no later than April 6th, 2026. The exhibition runs April 9th - May 31st, 2026, with an opening reception on April 11th at Art Scene West Gallery (803 W Harbor Drive, suite E1-E, San Diego 92101).

The submission fee is $35. For selected artists, the participation fee is $125. Art Scene West will remit 65% of sales commission to the artist and withhold 35% for gallery expenses. Artists are responsible for all shipping and return-shipping fees. Select artists will have their works on display and for sale inside the gallery and on the website.
