About This Call
OneZeroOne is an open juried international exhibition seeking submissions that provide commentary and observations on binary systems and their impact on daily life. The exhibition takes place at The VETS Gallery, One Avenue of the Arts, Providence, RI 02903, from September 16 to November 15, 2019.
Open to all media and processes including digital and conventional painting and drawing, fibers, clays, recycled materials, mixed media and assemblage. All electronic media must be self-contained and self-running. No video entries will be accepted. Artwork previously exhibited with ALRI is not permitted. All work must be original and exhibition ready to install. Maximum size is 36" wide and 48" high including frame. 3D work should have an overall footprint of 24" x 24" or less, with a weight limit of 35 lbs. Work must be appropriate for viewers of all ages and should not contain overt nudity, sexually explicit material, profanity, or controversial subject matter. Artists may submit 1-20 images. Entry fee is $35 for 3 entries, and $15 for each subsequent entry. Free to ALRI members.
Juror: David DeMelim, Managing Director of the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts. Awards: 1st Prize $300, 2nd Prize $200, 3rd Prize $100. Notification of acceptance will be sent by August 12, 2019. Drop-off dates are September 9-10, 2019. Reception and awards ceremony is September 18, 2019 at 5:30-8pm EDT. Pick-up dates are November 18-19, 2019. Shipped artwork is subject to an additional $15 storage and handling fee and must be sent via UPS only.
