About This Call
On the Coast is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art) with over $300 in cash prizes. The theme invites artists to interpret "On the Coast," whether depicting familiar coastlines, visited destinations, or imagined places.
Eligibility requirements: Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and must be original work not copied from copyrighted material, painted by another, created under direct guidance of another, or created by following a tutorial. Work may have been done in a class or workshop using only the artist's own reference material. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Photography, 3D media, reproductions, and digital art are not acceptable. There is no size limit.
Submission requirements: Submit 1-3 images at $15 per image for non-members or $10 per image for members. The exhibition runs September 28 - October 25, with an online opening reception on Thursday, October 3rd at 6pm on Zoom. Acceptance notifications will be sent September 27th. Work must be the same as represented in digital images with no alterations, and must be available for the exhibition's entirety. If sold, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. Work may be listed as not for sale by contacting [email protected].
