On Cloud Nine

On Cloud Nine is a juried exhibition hosted by The Firefly Artists that focuses on cloud-themed artwork. The exhibition will consider images of fog and nebula as well. All original media is acceptable, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabric work, glasswork, jewelry, and digital media. Both 2D and 3D artwork are eligible. Maximum size of pieces (including framing) is 30" x 40". All art must be for sale, and the gallery takes a 35% commission.

Artists living on Long Island and in the surrounding region are eligible, provided they can pick up and drop off work in person. Entries must be original artworks (no artwork created in a workshop or class under instruction of a teacher) and no reproductions except photography. Each artist may submit one entry for $35, with up to three additional pieces for $5 each. Up to two pieces from each selected artist will be chosen for the exhibition. Accepted work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang or display. Framed pieces 16" x 20" and larger must have plexiglass instead of glass. Accepted jewelry pieces must be framed.

The exhibition runs April 1-27, 2022 in The Darcy Gallery (second floor) at The Firefly Artists Gallery, 162 Main Street, Northport, NY. Note: there is no handicapped access to this venue. Selected works must be dropped off March 26, 5:00pm-8:00pm or March 29, 12:00pm-5:00pm. Artwork pickup is April 30, 3:00pm-8:00pm or May 1, 3:00pm-5:00pm. A storage fee of $5 per day will be charged for pieces left beyond May 1. After 30 days from the show's end, The Firefly Artists reserves the right to place objects in storage at the artist's risk and expense. Awards include First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention. Artists are responsible for insuring their own works.
