Old Myths, New Stories

Open to members of the Women Caucus for Art, nationwide. This exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and invites women artists to express ideas about the experience of women through time and today. The show explores the unique voice of women, the feminine, and the sacred feminine in art. Artists are invited to share their visual voice and vision of the power of women's past, present and future in society and in the arts.

All styles and media are accepted except video and performance. Maximum framed size for 2D work is 7.5' h x 3.5' w. Maximum weight for 2D or 3D work is 50 lbs. All works must be original, completed, and ready to hang. Paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges. Two-dimensional works on paper must be framed or prepared to be easily placed on the wall. Entry fee is $25 for up to 3 entries. Submissions are 1-3 images.

The exhibition runs November 7 – December 23, 2020 at Curtis Cultural Arts Center, 2349 E. Orchard Rd, Greenwood Village, CO 80121. Opening reception is Saturday, November 7, 6–8 PM with awards at 6:30 PM. Gallery hours are Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–4:30 PM and Saturday 10 AM–4 PM. Prizes include $300 for Best of Show and three $100 Honorable Mentions. Curtis Cultural Arts Center takes 20% commission on sold work. Notification of acceptance will be sent the week of September 28. Work pickup is the week of December 28.
