About This Call
The 2026 Old Florida Celebration of the Arts will take place April 11 & 12 on historic 2nd Street in Cedar Key, an island community in the center of Florida's Gulf Coast 60 miles SW of Gainesville. This juried event attracts 10,000 visitors annually and offers approximately $14,000 in prize money and purchase awards. This festival has been voted in Sunshine Artist's 200 Best for the past four years and has been rated one of the top Small Town Art Fairs in the nation by ArtFairCalendar.com. Cedar Key's beautiful natural setting, outstanding artist amenities, and the friendliness and hospitality of the volunteers make this a favorite destination for both artists and art enthusiasts.
Established in 1964 and formerly known as the Cedar Key Sidewalk Arts Festival, this event was revived in 2006 - returning to a juried fine arts show. The jury fee is $25 and upon acceptance, each booth space is $200. Fine Artist and Artisans in all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Country crafts and production work are not acceptable at this event. The event is limited to 100 invited artists with 10 ft x 12 ft booth spaces positioned against the curb. Complimentary amenities include continental breakfast both mornings and a private Artist's Reception and Awards Ceremony Saturday evening sponsored by the Cedar Key Arts Center.
The event is open Saturday from 10 am-5 pm, Sunday from 10 am-4 pm. Set up is Friday evening (6 pm to 10 pm) and Saturday morning (6:30 am - 9 am). Take-down is Sunday 4 pm-7 pm. All work must be original design of the accepted artist, and accepted artists must be present at the event both days. A high proportion of original artwork is expected, with reproductions making up no more than 20% of hung artwork. Application is through Zapplications only.
