Okefenokee Photo Safari Exhibition 2023

The Wilderness Photography Foundation (WPF) was established to promote environmental advocacy through fine art nature photography. The organization believes that photography can record the beauty of ecosystems in peril and motivate public involvement in protecting these fragile spaces. Through an annual photography competition, the WPF presents an exceptional collection of wildlife photography in a traveling exhibition on public display for a 12-month period in multiple galleries around the southeast. The first Photography Competition and Exhibit, "The Okefenokee Photo Safari 2023," will highlight the beauty of wetland areas, wildlife and ecosystems. The Okefenokee Swamp is the largest freshwater wetlands in the United States and faces persistent compromise as a target for development by the mining industry.

This juried competition has national eligibility and accepts entries in three divisions: Advanced, Novice, and Youth. Fine art photography showcasing the beauty and diversity of the swamp, wetlands and/or swamp-related ecosystems as well as plant and animal life is the subject. Entries can be in any category or combination of categories: Landscape Photography, Wildlife Photography, Micro/Close-Up Photography, Astrophotography, or Digital Art Photography. Submitted images do not have to be limited to just the Okefenokee Swamp. Maximum of 15 images per applicant allowed.

Entry fee is $35.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. Applicants must submit 1-15 images online through CaFÉ (Call For Entry). For additional details, visit www.WPFus.org/projects.
