About This Call
Oil Painters of America invites artists to enter the 35th National Juried Exhibition, hosted by the Steamboat Art Museum in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The exhibition will be on view May 29–August 29, 2026, and will showcase the finest works in draftsmanship, color, and composition, featuring a diverse range of styles and subjects.
Eligibility: Artists must be citizens of North America and OPA members (membership available for $80.00 through December 31, 2024). Paintings must be created on a single flat substrate, framed and wired for hanging. Work must be originally conceived with your own reference, drawing, and concept, and self-painted. No direct copies of stock images, historic photos, or reference material to which you do not hold total copyright are allowed. Paintings created in instructional settings such as workshops or art classes are not considered original. All paintings must have been created within the last 3 years.
Fees and Awards: Entry fees are $35 for the first painting, $15 for the second, and $10 for the third. Only one painting can be accepted. Total national awards are approximately $100,000 in cash and merchandise, including a $25,000 Best In Show. All work must be for sale at the artist's current pricing structure. Artists will receive 50% of the sale price, with the other 50% going to the Steamboat Art Museum and OPA. Acceptance notification will be sent March 27, 2026.
