About This Call
Oglebayfest is a juried artists' market and gourmet market festival held October 6-8, 2023 in West Virginia. The festival is open to artists who exhibit and sell work of original concept and design that is handmade. For the Gourmet Market, items must be specialty food products that are not widely commercially available, and the applicant must be the company owner or principal producer. Artists are encouraged to demonstrate their craft at their booth space during the festival.
Entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable). Applicants must submit 5 high-quality photos of individual artworks/products and 2 high-quality photos of booth setup. Booth space costs range from $165-$525 depending on tent size and whether the organizer provides the tent. Additional costs include electricity ($15), tables ($10), and chairs ($3). The Up & Coming Artist Program offers free booth space to artists with little to no festival exhibiting experience.
Booth setup occurs October 5-6, with all booths required to be completely set up by noon on October 6. Festival hours are noon-7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Booth space cost includes no commission on sales, artist's dinner, cash awards for Best of Show, overnight security, booth side loading/unloading, booth sitters for breaks, and complimentary coffee and water. Jury notifications will be emailed June 26. Full payment of booth fees is due by August 1. Cancellations after September 1 are nonrefundable. Exhibitors must be present during festival hours and are responsible for setup and dismantling. West Virginia Consumer Sales Tax must be collected on all sales.
