Off Center 2026 - An International Ceramics Competition

Blue Line Arts presents Off Center 2026, an annual international ceramics competition seeking works that are "off center" in every sense—art that challenges, surprises, and reframes the role of ceramics in contemporary art. The focus is on highlighting ceramic works that are monumental in scale or concept, welcoming submissions that redefine the potential of clay including large installations, mixed-media combinations, wall-mounted pieces, wearable objects, and any form of ceramic expression that explores new territory. While all kinds of submissions are welcome—functional and non-functional pottery, sculptural works, jewelry, abstract forms, and mixed media—this year's exhibition seeks to champion the ambitious and avant-garde works that challenge traditional perceptions.

Prizes include 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, and 3rd place: $100. The exhibition runs March 21st - May 2nd, 2026, with artist notification on January 30th, 2026. Entry fee is $35 for non-members (free for Blue Line Artist Members) with $5 for each additional submission up to 5 total. All artwork must be original, completed within the last 2 years, individually for sale, and able to enter through doors with 94" h x 91" w clearance. Artists receive 50% commission from gallery sales (60% for members).

Submission requirements include 1-5 JPG images (1mb-3mb, minimum 1200px on one side) and optional artist statement. Artwork over 75lbs must be installed by the artist. Shipping deadline is February 28th, 2026, with hand delivery March 16th-17th from 10am-3pm. Opening reception is March 21st, 2026, and work pickup is May 3rd-4th from 10am-3pm.
