About This Call
Blue Line Arts invites submissions for Off Center 2025, an international ceramics competition seeking works that challenge and reframe the role of ceramics in contemporary art. The competition welcomes ceramic works of all kinds—functional and non-functional pottery, sculptural works, jewelry, abstract forms, and mixed media—with particular interest in pieces that are monumental in scale or concept, including large installations, mixed-media combinations, wall-mounted pieces, wearable objects, and unconventional ceramic expressions that explore new territory.
Guest juror Nancy Servis, a distinguished curator and writer with expertise in ceramic arts, will select winning works. Prizes include $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $100 for third place. The exhibition runs March 22 - May 3, 2025, with an opening reception on April 19, 2025. Entry deadline is January 17, 2025. Blue Line Arts members submit free (up to 5 works); non-members pay $35 for the first submission and $5 for each additional submission (up to 5 total). All artwork must be original and completed within the last 2 years, and cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. Artists must be 18 or older. Artwork must be individually for sale and ready to hang with appropriate hardware. Artworks over 75 lbs must be installed by the artist. Artwork must fit through doors with 94" h x 91" w clearance. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide prepaid return labels (FedEx or UPS only). Hand-delivered artwork must be picked up by the artist. Blue Line Arts handles all sales; non-member artists receive 50% commission and members receive 60% commission. For questions, contact Blue Line Arts at (916) 783-4117 or [email protected].
