Of This Earth: A Plein Air Exhibition

"Of This Earth" is a juried exhibition dedicated to artwork created in plein air or 'in the open air.' The exhibition will highlight the various methods and interpretations utilized by artists to depict the American landscape. All two-dimensional mediums are accepted except for photography. The intent is to showcase a wide range of approaches and ideas that center around our connection to the environment around us.

Eligibility: Open to artists over the age of 18 who reside within the United States. All work must be original and completed in the last two years. Entries must be submitted through CAFÉ with 1-3 jpeg images (files not to exceed 5MB). Entry fee is $25 per artist, invoiced upon receipt of entry regardless of acceptance. Professional presentation is required; 2D artwork must be framed with a secure hanging method, and canvas sides and staples must be covered.

Important dates: Entries due 4/26/2023. Artist notifications on or before 5/1/2023. Artwork delivery 5/15/2023-5/18/2023 during gallery hours. Exhibition runs 6/1/2023-6/22/2023 with opening reception 6/1/2023 from 4:00-6:00pm. Artwork pick-up 6/26/2023-6/29/2023 during gallery hours. The exhibition will coincide with a plein air paint out in downtown Kokomo on June 2nd, with work from that event eligible for inclusion. Sales are encouraged with a 30% commission to the gallery.
