About This Call

Observica, a Canadian contemporary art magazine published quarterly by Discover the Artist media holding, invites visual artists worldwide to submit original artwork for the 32nd issue (Impulse Edition 2025). The magazine is distributed in both online and high-quality print-on-demand versions in full-color, glossy A4 format, reaching thousands of art experts, collectors, galleries, museums, and art institutions from over 150 countries.

Each selected artist receives 2 dedicated A4 colorful pages featuring the artwork image with artwork data, artist photo, and a lifetime active link with QR code, plus a separate page with the artist's photo and biography. Additional benefits include a free online artist profile page on the Biafarin platform, a digital promotional badge for social media sharing, a digital certificate, and permanent online accessibility of all magazine pages for SEO visibility. One artwork will be selected for the magazine's front cover. All magazine readers can submit reviews and ratings of artworks online, with artists notified of feedback via email.

Submission is free. Selected artists must pay a fixed selection fee of USD 200 to proceed with publication (early bird rate of USD 120 available for first selections). All selection fee payments are backed by a money-back guarantee until the opening day with no questions asked. Artists may submit 1-10 original artworks in any visual arts medium (painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, digital arts, photography, sculpture, etc.). Artworks must be entirely the artist's original work, preferably created within the past 5 years, with no size restrictions. Artists must hold all rights for international publication. Ineligible content includes pornography, violence, racial or religious hatred, and offensive material. Entries must not be copies or derivatives of copyrighted work. The jury process uses two phases: Yes/No selection followed by scoring (1-10) by 3-5 jury members, with highest-scoring artworks selected.
