About This Call

Observica, a Canadian contemporary art magazine published quarterly, invites visual artists worldwide to submit original artwork for the 28th issue (Impulse Edition 2024). The magazine is distributed in both online and high-quality print-on-demand versions in full-color glossy A4 format, reaching thousands of art experts, collectors, galleries, museums, and art institutions from over 120 countries.

Selected artists will receive 2 dedicated A4 colorful pages in the magazine: one page featuring the artist's photo and biography, and another presenting the artwork image with artwork data, artist photo, and a lifetime active link with QR code. Additional benefits include a free online artist profile page, social media shareable artwork badge, and digital certificate. One artwork will be selected for the magazine's front cover. All magazine pages and links remain permanently accessible online to boost artist visibility and SEO. Readers can submit reviews and ratings of artworks online, with artists notified of feedback by email.

Submission is free. Selected artists must pay a fixed selection fee of USD 200 to confirm acceptance for publishing (early bird rate of USD 120 available). A money-back guarantee is available until the exhibition's official opening day. Artists may submit up to 10 original artworks in any visual art medium (painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, digital arts, photography, sculpture, etc.). Artworks must be entirely the artist's original work, preferably created within the past 5 years, with no size restrictions. Artists must hold all rights for international publication. Artworks containing pornography, violence, racial or religious hatred, or offensive content are not admissible. The jury process uses a two-phase system: Yes/No selection followed by scoring from 1-5 by jury members, with highest-scoring artworks selected.
