About This Call

Observica, a Canadian contemporary art magazine published quarterly, invites visual artists worldwide to submit original artwork for the 26th issue (Prime Edition 2023). The magazine will be published in both online and high-quality print-on-demand versions in full-color glossy A4 format, distributed to thousands of art experts, collectors, galleries, museums, and art institutions across over 120 countries.

Each selected artist will receive 2 dedicated A4 colorful pages: one featuring the artist's photo and biography, and another presenting the artwork image with artwork data, artist photo, and a lifetime active link with QR code. Selected artists also receive a free online artist profile page on the Biafarin platform, a digital certificate, and lifelong links to boost online visibility and SEO. Submission is free, but selected artists must pay a USD 200 selection fee to confirm acceptance for publication.

Artists may submit up to 10 original artworks in any visual art medium (painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, digital arts, collage, photography, graphics, design, book art, land art, paper art, glass art, wood art, landscape, crafts, assemblage, jewelry, metalsmithing, sculpture, fiber art, textile art, installation, mixed media). Artworks must be entirely the entrant's own work, preferably created within the past 5 years, with no size restrictions. Only the artwork should appear in submitted photos. Artists must hold all rights for international publication. Artworks containing pornography, violence, racial or religious hatred, or offensive content are not admissible. Entries must not be copies or derivatives of copyrighted or published work. Selected artists may be asked to provide high-resolution artwork photos if needed.
