About This Call
Observica, a Canadian contemporary art magazine published quarterly, invites visual artists worldwide to submit original artwork for the 23rd issue, Special Edition 2023. The magazine is published in both online and high-quality print-on-demand versions in full-color glossy A4 pages, distributed to thousands of art experts, collectors, art enthusiasts, galleries, museums, and art institutions from over 120 countries.
Each selected artist receives 2 dedicated A4 colorful pages in the magazine: one page featuring the artist's photo and biography, and another presenting the artwork's image with artwork data, artist photo, and a lifetime active link with QR code. Selected artists also receive a free online artist profile page on the Biafarin platform, a social media sharable artwork badge, and a digital certificate. Submission is free; however, selected artists must pay a USD 200 selection fee to confirm acceptance for publication.
Artists can submit up to 10 original pieces in any visual art medium, including painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, digital arts, collage, photography, graphics, design, book art, land art, landscape, crafts, jewelry, metalsmithing, sculpture, fiber art, textile art, installation, and mixed media. Artworks must be entirely the entrant's original work, executed without instructor supervision, and preferably created within the past 5 years. Artists must hold all rights for international publication. Entries must not include copies or derivatives of copyrighted work, and artworks containing pornography, violence, racial or religious hatred, or offensive content are not admissible. Only the artwork should appear in submitted photos, without frames or extraneous backgrounds. High-resolution artwork photos may be requested if needed.
