About This Call
Objects of Agency is a 52-week virtual exhibition addressing abortion rights in the United States. The exhibition will take place throughout 2023, with all selected works on virtual display at heragallery.org. Each week, Hera Gallery will feature one artist and artwork to represent current issues and inspirations related to women's health care in America. Featured artists will be promoted across all social media accounts.
The exhibition seeks 53 works that speak to abortion rights and aims to stimulate, educate, and encourage abortion care while challenging anti-abortion campaigns and false information that dominate the internet. It provides a platform to share the voices, choices, and stories of all women and female-identifying persons. The exhibition is open to all US artists working in any media. Submissions were accepted October 1 - December 17, 2022. Exhibition dates are January - December 2023. Proposals for projects in process are accepted, with final work images due to Hera Gallery by January 3, 2023.
Entry fee is $15 for up to 3 images, with $5 for each additional image (up to 10 total images, 6 videos, and 3-10 total samples required). Contact [email protected] for need-based discounts. Gallery commission from sold works will be donated to Planned Parenthood. Selected artists will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual artist talk hosted by Hera Gallery.
