NWWS 82nd Annual International Open Exhibition

The Northwest Watercolor Society announces the 82nd Annual International Open Exhibition, open to all artists 18 years or older. This online exhibition runs from October 28, 2022 through January 6, 2023, with over $11,000 in cash and merchandise awards.

Accepted media includes transparent and opaque watercolors, casein, egg tempera, gouache, and acrylic on any appropriate, archival, 2-dimensional watermedia substrate. Collage or other media may be used, but watermedia must constitute 80% or more of the work. Oils, water-soluble oils, and computer-generated art are not allowed. Original paintings must be a minimum of 7 inches in any dimension and must have been executed within the last two years. All entries must be original works painted only by the entrant, and photo reference material must have been taken only by the entrant. Nude representations are not allowed.

Entry fees are $30 for NWWS members (one entry) or $40 for non-members (one entry), with reduced per-entry rates for multiple submissions. A $10 media fee applies. Entries must be for sale and priced with intent to sell. The artist receives 75% of the sales price, with NWWS receiving a 25% commission on paintings sold before the exhibition opens, during the exhibition, or within 30 days of closing. Accepted artists will be notified the week of September 15, 2022. The juror is Andy Evansen AWS, PAPA, RRWS, TWSA.
