NWS 2013 Member Exhibit

The National Watercolor Society invites NWS Signature and Associate Members to submit work for the 2013 Member Exhibition, running June 8 - August 18, 2013 at NWS Gallery, 915 South Pacific Ave, San Pedro, CA.

Eligibility: NWS Signature and Associate Members with paid dues may submit one image in digital JPEG format. Work must be predominantly water-based media on paper, unvarnished, and completed within the last two years. Source material must be your own design or photograph. Paintings done in classes or workshops are not eligible. No digital art, photography, prints, or reproductions. JPEG specifications: minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72ppi/dpi resolution recommended, file size not to exceed 3.0 MB. Entry fee is $25 (nonrefundable). Deadline for entry is April 6, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified by April 23, with paintings due May 10. Juror Don Andrews will select award winners from qualified paintings.

Cash awards totaling $5,000 include: 1st Place Dana Bartlett Award ($1,000), 2nd Place Sueo Serisawa Award ($1,000), 3rd Place Richard Haines Award ($1,000), George Gibson Award ($500), David Scott Award ($500), Watson Cross Jr. Award ($500), and Edgar Ewing Award ($500). All work must be for sale; NWS retains a 30% commission. Framing requirements: minimum image size 9" x 12", maximum frame size 40" x 40". Frame must be simple and sturdy with rigid Plexiglas (no glass). Paintings must be ready for hanging with wire.
